Introduction to public health
In this intensive one-month course you will get an overview of public health. We talk about some of the main public health issues such as maternal and child health, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, and nutrition. We will cover how to design interventions, implement, monitor, and evaluate projects. We will talk about strategies to ensure we work evidence-based and how to make our project proposals evidence-based. The Introduction of Public Health course is a practical course, suitable for students or professionals with an MSW, bachelor’s in science, bachelor’s in nursing, etc, that wants to enter the Public Health field. It is also suitable for NGO’s that want to improve the knowledge on Public Health in their organization.

Public health nutrition
This course is a one month program on public health nutrition. It covers different aspects of public health nutrition. It investigates nutrition in a life stage approach. Nutrition program planning, monitoring, and evaluation. It covers a variety of nutrition interventions such as micronutrient and macronutrient distribution, food safety, health promotion, and nutrition education.

Data use in public health
This is a two-week introduction course to practical data use in public health. The course gives an overview of how data-use can become part of each step of public health management. In the course, we will discuss the importance of data use, how to go from raw data to useable information, how to analyze data quality and what implications this gives in data use, how to identify situations where data use is necessary and how data should be used in different scenarios such as project planning, M&E and disease surveillance. Data use culture and challenges with data use will also be discussed. The course gives relatable examples from a public health practitioner’s perspective to demonstrate how the principles should be used.
